One of the main reasons that we play and watch professional sports is because everyone always wants to push themselves to be the best. Everyone wants to go down in the record books for a great achievement, or something that hasn’t been done before. And that’s what Pardeep Narwal has done (not for the first time), reaching another milestone in the Pro Kabaddi League.
He’s often been regarded as one of the best ever raiders that this tournament has seen, and one of the best in the country as well. Nicknamed the ‘Record Breaker’, he’s got a few feathers in his cap already and today, 4th Jan 2022, he added another one as he went on to become the first person in PKL history to score 1,200 points!
Pardeep Narwal scores 1,200 points
Currently playing for the UP Yoddha, Narwal was in action again today as he is very often during this packed PKL 8 schedule. And he reached this new milestone while playing against Tamil Thalaivas today. “We are thinking of the milestone, he is too. He will play really well in his next match,” said the UP Yoddha coach, Jasveer Singh, on Sunday.
Also known as the ‘Dubki King’, he’s broken many records in the PKL over the years and this was another one for his memory book and trophy cabinet. He is the most successful raider in PKL history and was part of the reason Patna Pirates went on to win three consecutive PKL titles between PKL Season 3 and Season 5. This year, he was released into the auction and was bagged by UP Yoddha.

It was surprising that he was released because he scored a record 302 raid points last season and every team knows his worth, which is why his current PKL franchise splurged an astounding Rs.1.65 Crore to purchase his services in PKL 8. However, Narwal has decided to remain very humble about his achievements.
“I don’t have any individual targets. I want to play for the team – that’s my primary aim. If I do well, then the points will follow. We have a very balanced team with plenty of youngsters. The onus will be on me to steer the team as a seasoned player, but I have full faith in the team. We don’t have a trophy yet and I would like to change that this season,” he said before the PKL 8 season began.

Pardeep Narwal – breaks raiding record
The superstar had two seasons with 300+ raid points over the years but PKL 8 has been a little slow for him, with only 33 points under his belt until tonight’s encounter. But considering he’s been so consistent over the years, kabaddi fans believe he’ll be back strong in the games to come and justify that big price tag attached to his name.
While we’re loving the records being broken and tight finishes at PKL 8, you can try your hand on kabaddi betting online, to make some big bucks on the live games as they happen. For similar updates from PKL 2021/22 and other kabaddi news, stay tuned to ReadScoops.com…
