For years and even maybe decades, there’s been a question of whether or not sports betting should be legalised in India. There are arguments and lists of pros and cons of why it should be done in our country, just like it is in several other countries in the world. And a leading digital series on cricket and the drama around the game seems to be propagating the benefits of legalised sports betting in India…
We’re talking about Inside Edge Season 3 which releases 3rd December 2021 and while we haven’t watched the third season yet, the 3-minute trailer mentions legalised sports betting at least five times. The first two seasons educates the viewers on what bookies and betting is and the third one seems to be going for the jugular in terms of getting out a message.

We could be wrong but if ‘legalised sports betting in India’ was the highlight in the 3-minute trailer, then we’re pretty sure it’s going to be one of the biggest messages being sent out in Inside Edge Season 3. We at Read Scoops don’t deny that this should be legalised in India but it’s the first time such a major OTT series is going to advocate an issue which has always been considered a taboo in India.
The first couple of seasons show the filth and dirt involved in the game and what fixing and betting can do to it in a negative way. However, there seems to be a spin coming in the third season and a major message to the authorities and lawmakers looking into the issue of sports betting in India.
