He also holds the record for the join most number of Champions Trophy centuries (3) along with Shikhar Dhawan, Sourav Ganguly, and Herschelle Gibbs.

Close behind him is Sri Lanka’s Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara, India’s Shikhar Dhawan and Sourav Ganguly, and others. Shikhar Dhawan has had an exception Champions Trophy career, also topping the 2017 Champions Trophy most runs list. He has an exception batting average of 77.88, higher than anyone else on this list, and only Ganguly having an average of 70+. Narrowly missing out on the list but likely to enter it during the 2025 Champions Trophy are Virat Kohli (529 runs), Rohit Sharma (481 runs), and Joe Root (431 runs).

2017 Champions Trophy most runs

The 2017 edition held in England was dominated by the Indian batsmen, with Shikhar Dhawan (338 runs) and Rohit Sharma (304 runs) topping the run charts. However, their individual efforts weren’t good enough to take them over the line, losing to Pakistan in the final.

2025 Champions Trophy most runs

We haven’t updated this as yet because at the time of us writing us, the 2025 Champions Trophy was yet to begin. However, we suspect some of the top contenders to end with the most runs in this edition are Australia’s Steve Smith, Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman, India’s Virat Kohli, New Zealand’s Kane Williamson, and others. Williamson got scores of 58, 133, and 34 in the recent tri-series in Pakistan.
