Our man Wayne Rooney can’t seem to stay out of the limelight in recent months. First, he made headlines when he decided to return to his boyhood club Everton, then he made headlines for the news of his fourth baby on the way, then announced his retirement from international football, and this time hit the news for the wrong reason.
Late yesterday (Thursday) evening, the former England captain and England’s record goal-scorer Wayne Rooney was pulled over by cops in Cheshire, close to his residence. He has been living at this residence for over 12 years and was stopped yesterday after an evening out.
After being stopped near his £6 million Cheshire home, Rooney was taken to a local police station and arrested on the suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was reportedly quizzed by officers there. This happens to not be the first time Rooney has been in trouble for drinking and driving.
The father of three recently announced that he and his wife have their fourth baby on the way, and this incident may not be the best example to set for his young kids. Earlier on Thursday, Rooney was spotted at the Everton training ground; he has scored twice for Everton after returning to the club this season.
November last year saw Rooney drunk and gatecrashing a wedding, while he was also stopped for driving under the influence on Christmas Eve. This is all we have on this story but keep watching this space for more updates on the Rooney arrest.
