Real Madrid vs CSKA Moscow Live Updates

90′ + 3′: The final whistle is blown and that’s that. History for CSKA Moscow as they beat Madrid 3-0. They complete a double over the home team in the group stages, but sadly, they had no other wins from their 6 games. Hope you enjoyed our coverage of the game and we’ll be back with more UEFA Champions League action soon!

84′: A little over 6 minutes to go before celebrations begin in Moscow. Probably the biggest win ever in the club’s history…

80′: Weird when you look at it. CSKA Moscow will have only 2 wins in their 6 of the UCL 2018/19 group stages matches (assuming they win this one) and both, very ironically, have come against Real Madrid. You beat RMA at home as well as away and yet, Madrid end on the top of the table while CSKA will be shown the exit door. Dani Carvajal replaces Marcelo in the defense.

73′: Everyone wants to cash in against Real Madrid today. Now, it’s the 19-year old Arnór Sigurðsson who strikes from the edge of the box and drives a ground ball to the right of Courtois to take CSKA Moscow 3-0 ahead. GOAAAALLL! This goal seems to be the last nail in the coffin and it looks like CSKA will end their 2018/19 Champions League journey with a win against Real Madrid.

66′: Further woes fro Real Madrid as Gareth Bale seems to have hurt his ankle. He was brought in as a substitute in the second half itself so he won’t be wanting to go off. 2 minutes off the field and he’s back to try and test the severity of that injury. 70% possession now for the home team, but nothing to celebrate about as yet. Moscow still lead 2-0.

58′: Isco misses a good chance earlier on and Madrid have more experienced players on the pitch at the moment, with Toni Kroos coming on for Marcos Llorente. I repeat, they need to act quick. 68% possession still with the home team, but they seem unable to penetrate, as a little over thirty minutes are left in the game.

50′: From here, CSKA fans will only get happier with every minute to pass. Suddenly, the Russian team looks much more confident with a few more attacks and even a couple of corners early in the 2nd half. For Madrid, covering the deficit isn’t impossible but they need to strike soon. Gareth Bale replaces Karim Benzema at the half-time break.

Something for all you sports punters:

43′: What one earth is happening at the Santiago Bernabeu? You won’t believe the scoreline here. 2-0 and CSKA Moscow are leading against the Champions League heroes. Georgi Shchennikov puts a second one past Courtois to score a GOAAAALLL! Mario Fernandes is given too much of space and he shoots, and Courtois saves, only to give Shchennikov an open goal to hit at. He keeps his composure and volleys it in from around 10 yards away. Madrid playing well but are trailing 0-2!

37′: We asked for a goal and we got it. However, it was from the team we didn’t expect to score. They had a few shots and their first shot on target went straight in as the #9 Fyodor Chalov gets a GOAAAALLL! to put CSKA Moscow ahead. The Russian striker strikes with his left foot from the edge of the box and curls it around Courtois, leaving the Madrid fans stunned. CSKA Moscow 1-0 ahead.

35′: Madrid have had 9 shots so far in this game and 5 of them have been bang on target. As for the opponents, they’ve had a couple of shots in the last couple of minutes, which has taken their tally up to 4 for the game so far. Playing at the Santiago Bernabeu, the fans are cheering up the home team big time right now. How long before we see a goal?

29′: One third of the game is in the bag and we’re yet to see a change in the scoreline. However, there’s some obvious dominance so far from Real Madrid, having enjoyed 72% of the ball possession so far tonight. CSKA Moscow have only won one game in the 2018/19 UCL so far and it’s highly unlikely they will get their second win tonight.

RMA vs CSKA live updates

It was only July this year when Cristiano Ronaldo completed a record €120 million move from Real Madrid to Juventus. What that meant is that Madrid would have to be playing the 2018/19 UEFA Champions League without Ronaldo for the first time in years. Considering he has made this competition his own over the years, that’s quite a loss.

However, they’ve done pretty well in their first year at the UCL competition without Ronaldo, having won 4 of their 5 Group G games so far, while today happens to be their last group stage game of the year. They play CSKA Moscow in their final group stage game tonight, 12th December and we at Read Scoops are set to bring you live updates from the game, so sit back and enjoy.
