Clearly, City start as favourites for this contest, especially since they have a 1 goal blanket after that stunning comeback to win 3-2 in Germany. However, anything can happen in football and if Schalke can repeat two goals here, we could be in for a game. Fantasy league players remember that Nicolas Otamendi is suspended for this game, having received a red card in the reverse fixture..
Some more players in the injury list who you shouldn’t be considering in your side include Kevin de Bruyne, Fernandinho, Benjamin Mendy and Claudio Bravo. In place of Otamendi, we would suggest picking John Stones, who is now back from injury. Previous game goal scorers Leroy Sane and Raheem Sterling are must haves once again in the 2nd Leg.
Schalke 04
As for the away team, Alessandro Schopf, Omar Mascarell and Daniel Caligiuri are out with injuries. For this game, I’d pick more mid-fielders from Schalke as I expect Man City to score quite a few goals and we don’t want too many Schalke defenders, as it will lead to a lot of negative points.
Schalke haven’t won a single of their last 6 games against English clubs and it could only get worse for them tonight. Don’t forget to pick Nabil Bentaleb, who scored twice in the last game, even though they were both penalties. Sane will be playing against his former club and Schalke defenders will try to best to not let him get past their defenses.
