There’s been a lot of talk about Cristiano Ronaldo being transferred out of Real Madrid since the last 4-5 transfer windows, but he always ended up staying. However, this time the talks had reached advanced stages and a lot of interest was being shown by Italian club Juventus and English club Manchester United.
It would’ve been a sort of homecoming for Ronaldo if he did move over to United, having played there between 2003 and 2009. Ever since, he has been at Real Madrid but we have reached the end of the 33-year old legend’s tenure in Spain. The deadline for this deal was today and the decision was made – Ronaldo will move to Juventus for €120 Million.
Juventus had shown the maximum interest in this world-class striker so far, having earlier offered a record £88m (€100m) for Ronaldo. They have now agreed to a deal of around €120 million and this will become the highest the Serie A Champions have ever paid for a player. Ronaldo will now indeed make the move to Turin.
Ronaldo earlier felt snubbed by his team, who recently accepted a fee for his transfer while he was playing in the World Cup. This is said to be done mostly because of his age, and his move out of Madrid is now finalized. With 311 goals in 292 appearances for Madrid, he is the club’s highest goal scorer and will be an asset to Juventus as well, for however long he stays there.
.@Cristiano, your goals, your numbers and everything we've won together speak for themselves. You have earned a special place in the history of @RealMadrid. As Madridistas we'll remember you always. It's been a pleasure to play alongside you, bicho. Big hig and good luck! ??? pic.twitter.com/NaywaDd3gw
