Ezekiel Elliott is Key For Saints Game

Ezekiel Elijah Elliott is an American running back that plays for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League (NFL). Probably one of the most popular professional sporting leagues in the world, the NFL has been lit up by Elliott who has been the hottest running back over the last three weeks.

The 23-year old’s NFL stats in the last three months will tell you 394 rushing yards, 531 yards from scrimmage and 4 touchdowns, which is just amazing. However, the Cowboys next take on the New Orleans Saints, who have had the most strict defense in the season so far, averaging just 73.2 yards per run.

Ezekiel Elliott will be the main man against New Orleans Saints

Elliott came out of the victory against Washington Redskins with some hip soreness which kept him out of practice on Sunday. “His hips were bothering him. That’s why we kept him out of practice yesterday. He looks better this morning,” said Cowboys’ coach Jason Garrett on Monday morning.

The Saints’ defense has been outstanding, to say the least, and it’s going to be an intense game when Cowboys and Saints face off tonight. In Saints’ last game against Atlanta Falcons, Tevin Coleman and Ito Smith (Falcons running backs) managed only 6 yards on 12 carries. Can Elliott better that? Or will he be restricted too?

Talking about that sublime defense against the Falcons, Saints defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins said, “When you can hold a team to 1.6 [yards] a carry, they may as well not even try to run the ball anymore.” Surely this kind of trash talk will motivate Elliott to do better than he has already been doing of late.

Young Zeke will try to become the first running back this year to rush 100 yards when he takes on Saints in a few hours from now. The game is certainly going to be a cracker, and we at Read Scoops are tilting towards a Cowboys victory here. Let’s not forget that if Saints are the best defensive team in terms of fewest yards allowed per rushing attempt (3.6), Cowboys are tied with Vikings in third with 3.7 yards per rushing attempt.
