India’s leading cricket T20 franchise tournament is the Indian Premier League (IPL) and after 15 successful seasons of this cash-rich event, the first edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) took place in 2023. The competition saw the highest pay cheques for women’s cricketers in the history of the game, with international players from across the world taking part.
There were some amazing individual performances with the bat right through from the WPL 2023 season till date, but some of them were sensationally consistent, with scores in almost every game. Five teams participated in the first couple of WPL seasons and we’ve put together a list of the WPL T20 top run scorers so far. Keep reading for the full WPL top run scorers list…
Women’s Premier League top run scorers list
A few batters got to 90+ scores in individual games but we didn’t see anyone cross the 100-run mark in WPL 2023. The top individual score of the season came from the bat of Sophie Devine who got 99(36) for RCB Women. Below, we’ve put up a complete list of the top run scorers in WPL history so far, last updated on 24th February 2024 at the start of the WPL 2024 season:

Given the fact that there’s not been a lot of domestic women’s cricket in India, there’s not a very deep pool of Indian players yet, which is bound to change with the emergence of the Women’s Premier League. And that’s the reason why most of the entries in the WPL most career runs list are overseas players, with the exception of Harmanpreet Kaur and Shafali Verma.

Australia’s Meg Lanning was one of the top players at the 2023 WPL Auction with a price tag of 1.1 Crore, also being given the captaincy of Delhi Capitals Women. She excelled with the bat right through the tournament too, ending with the Orange Cap award for the most runs scored in the season, with 345 runs in 9 matches.
England’s Natalie Sciver-Brunt also had a great season and she ended at number #2 on the WPL 2023 run scorer’s list, thanks to an unbeaten fifty in the WPL 2023 final which helped her team get across the line, also winning the Player of the Match award in the final. And the player with the most fifties in WPL history so far is Tahlia McGrath and Harmanpreet Kaur, having 4 fifties each in their respective WPL career so far.
