We all love watching international cricket at the highest level but from time to time, it’s fun to watch the grassroots level cricket and in particular, the Under-19 sides. It’s only a matter of time before the teenagers grow old enough to represent the senior national sides and it’s great to watch the youngsters in action, representing their national team’s junior setup.
In order to grow cricket at the junior level, there’s the Under-19 Cricket World Cup that takes place every two years at different locations across the world. The first edition took place in 1988 and from then till now, we’ve put together a complete U19 Cricket World Cup top run scorers list, from the first edition till the latest one.
Most players represent their U19 national side for only one World Cup but there are several players who have done so on two occasions, while a rare few players have done so on THREE separate occasions. Obviously then, those who have played multiple tournaments are featuring at the upper side of the top 10 run scorers list in the U19 Cricket World Cup.

So, special mentions for the likes of Dewald Brevis, Shikhar Dhawan, and Brett Williams who have made the top 10 list after having played only one edition each. Williams played the inaugural tournament in 1988 while Brevis played the last one in 2022.
In terms of individual batting averages, Brevis and Dhawan lead the charts by a long, long way, being the only ones on the list with batting averages of 80+ in their tenure at the U19 World Cup. Over time, Dhawan and Jack Burnham from England (not on this list) are the only players in history to have three individual U19 CWC centuries each. In terms of fifties, Sarfaraz Khan from India has a record seven (7) fifties.
