Trinidad T10 Blast: Jesse Bootan Hits 5 Consecutive Sixes

We always knew that this 2022 Trinidad T10 Blast was going to be thrilling and exciting, and we haven’t been let down so far. It was only the first day of the tournament when we saw Jyd Goolie go all ballistic on the bowlers, ending with 97(31)* in a blitzkrieg knock. Then on Day 2 of the tournament, we saw some more big hitting and the 150-run team total also being breached in this series.

150+ is a T20 score and to see teams reaching that score in a T20 game is incredible. And here, it was Soca King in the mood to demolish bowlers of Blue Devils, in what was Match 5 of the 2022 Trinidad T10 Blast. All games are being played at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, and it seems to be a great batting pitch as here, Jesse Bootan smashed five consecutive sixes!

Trinidad T10 Blast: Jesse Bootan Hits 5 Consecutive Sixes

Jesse Bootan – five consecutive sixes

Up against the leg-spin bowling of Kerwyn Sirju, Bootan hit all the first five balls of the over for a six. Soca was batting at 66/2 at the end of 5 overs when Sirju came in to bowl and he won’t be forgetting this match any time soon. He was hammered over his head, straight down the ground and even a couple over extra cover to rack up 30 runs in the first five balls of the over.

Luckily for him, he wasn’t one of those bowlers who had to go down in history as one to have conceded all sixes in an over, as the final ball turned out to be a single. They ended the sixth over at 97/2 and Bootan ended the over on 43* in just 11 deliveries. Eventually, Bootan went on to score 60(18) before being dismissed and from there, it was Sunil Narine who took over the role of hitting the big ones.

Narine was also in action in the tenth over as he hit 6, 4, 6, 6, 6 in consecutive balls and ended with 54(21)*. They racked up 155/3 and they’re proving to be one of the toughest teams in the competition, having scored 150 in both of their matches so far. As for Bootan, he had a good first match too, where he got 33(14) before running himself out. Watch the video of his five sixes HERE.

Who is Jesse Bootan?

The big hitting batsman doesn’t have a professional record and hasn’t played any List A or first class cricket in the Caribbean islands as yet. However, he’s someone who has been playing domestic tournaments for quite a few years and he himself is a leg-spin bowlers which would’ve helped him pick Sirju even better.

With the 2022 Caribbean Premier League expected to be played later this year, we think such players will be taken notice of, and it’s exciting that this is still the starting stages of the tournament. For more updates on the Trinidad T10 Blast 2022 and for other cricket news from around the world, stay tuned to ReadScoops.com
