As a sports fan, there were two massive reasons to rejoice yesterday. One of them was of course, Cristiano Ronaldo coming back to Manchester United. On the other hand, there was the coming back of Jarvo 69 on the pitch, an invader who has dressed in the Indian test jersey and made not one but two appearances during the 2nd and 3rd Tests between England and India at Lord’s and Headingley.
Very often in sports, we see pitch invaders running across to greet their favourite sports stars, or sometimes just for the heck of it and the 2-minute fame. This time however, the same invader reached the middle of the pitch twice. Earlier in the 2nd Test, he came out with the India test jersey and pretended to be among the fielders while England was batting, and insisted he was part of the team to the umpires too!

What was different was the back of his jersey which read ‘Jarvo’ with the 69 jersey number. He came out and did a few stretches before being escorted back out of the field. Yesterday on Day 3, he took it one step further by stepping out with bat, pads and other batting gear, impersonating India’s number #4 batsman. The crowds erupted this time, welcoming Jarvo 69 back. Even the cricketers had a bit of a laugh.

Who is Jarvo 69?
Now while the #Jarvo69 hashtag has gone viral on social media, let’s figure out who he really is?! Known by the name Daniel Jarvis, his twitter profile reads out comedian, filmmaker, and prankster, and has gathered 7,500+ followers on Twitter so far. His YouTube channel however under the name ‘bmwjarvo’ has been doing brilliantly with 105k+ subscribers, most of which would’ve come in the last 3 days.
Shout out to his team and especially the cameraman who followed the fun everywhere right from the ground to the view from the boundary to some pre-appearance talks as well as to outside the ground where he was escorted by the ground security.
