The Hundred (Men’s) Most Runs List

Starting in 2021, England Cricket Board (ECB) introduced to the world a new format of cricket where each team played only 100 balls and bowlers ran in to bowl in sets of 5, up to a maximum of 10 deliveries per set. The Hundred is what it was called and after that first successful season, ECB only decided to make it bigger and better in seasons to come.

The Hundred is much different than what we’ve been used to in cricket over the decades, for both batsmen as well as bowlers. Batsmen don’t need to change sides every 5 balls, but at the end of every 10-ball set. Off the total of 100 balls per innings, 25 of them will be a powerplay. The men’s and women’s tournaments take place simultaneously each year and both have been equally entertaining. We’ve put up a list of the top bowlers in The Hundred (men’s) so far. While there are overseas players in the league, all the top 10 run scorers in The Hundred men’s tournament are currently local English players. Currently, two of them have scored in excess of 1,000 career runs in Phil Salt and James Vince, while only Will Jacks and Harry Brook on this list of top run scorers have got an individual century in The Hundred so far.

5) Will Jacks

This batsman scored 913 runs in 37 games so far, including four fifties and a century, with a highest score of 108*. Playing for Oval Invincibles through his entire career so far, Jacks is a useful addition to any franchise side. Here, he doesn’t have a very high batting average but he has one of the top strike rates in the league, striking at 161+ right now.

4) Liam Livingstone

A few fifties in the 2025 edition means Liam Livingstone has maintained his spot in the top 5 run scorers in The Hundred. Captaining the Birmingham Phoenix men’s side currently, he’s got six fifties in the competition’s history with a total of 921 runs in 34 career games so far. He also holds the record for the most number of sixes in the tournament – 64.

 

3) Ben Duckett

Talking about Ben Duckett, here’s another English cricketer to have a great record in The Hundred. One of only two left-handers on this list, Duckett has 929 runs in 34 games including five fifties and a best score of 92 runs. He’s got the most number of boundaries in The Hundred (111), but also is less of a risk taker as he has the least number of sixes on this list (21) as compared to the top run scorer’s 48 sixes.

2) James Vince

Easily one of the top domestic run scorers in England cricket, James Vince is always among the runs in any domestic competition, including the English T20 Blast. Playing for Southern Brave in The Hundred (Men), he scored 1,040 runs in 40 games with 7 fifties and a top score of 86 runs. He’s got the second most number of fours under his belt, with his 109 boundaries only second to Ben Duckett.

1) Phil Salt

Playing for Manchester Originals right through his career in The Hundred thus far, Phil Salt is at the top of the most runs list in this competition, with 1,070 runs in 39 games. His tally of 48 sixes is second only to Livingstone on this list, while batting at an impressive strike rate of 155+ as well. Currently, he has seven fifties to his name in The Hundred!
