STATS: Seventh 150+ ODI Score for Rohit Sharma

Indian opener Rohit Sharma yesterday scored his 21st One-day International (ODI) century in the fourth ODI against the West Indies at the Brabourne Stadium. En route to this milestone, Rohit slammed and crushed many records, and it was an essential part of India’s big victory that took them 2-1 up in the series.

Here are some of the statistical highlights of Rohit Sharma’s innings:

2 –  Number of centuries Rohit Sharma hit in the ongoing ODI series against West Indies with still a match to go. This is the 9th consecutive series in which Rohit hit at least a century. This record started with his century against Bangladesh in the Champions Trophy 2017.

186 – Number of ODI innings taken by Rohit Sharma to score his 21 ODI hundreds, fourth fastest to score as many centuries. Sachin Tendulkar took 200 innings to get there. Hashim Amla (116 innings), Virat Kohli (138) and AB de Villiers (183) are the players to make it quicker than Rohit to 21 ODI tons.

19 – Number of ODI centuries hit by Rohit Sharma as an opener in ODIs. Sourav Ganguly also scored 19 ODI centuries as an opener in his career. Sachin Tendulkar has scored 45 centuries as an ODI opener and is the only Indian who is ahead of Rohit Sharma at the moment.

198  Sixes hit by Rohit Sharma in ODIs (including his knock in the 4th ODI against West Indies). He has hit 4 sixes in the 4th ODI and surpassed Sachin Tendulkar (195 sixes). Only Mahendra Singh Dhoni has more ODI sixes than Rohit Sharma in ODIs among Indians at the moment.

24 – Number of innings taken by Rohit Sharma to complete 1000 runs in ODIs against West Indies, fourth fewest taken by any player in this format. Hashim Amla (14), AB de Villiers (17) and Virat Kohli (21) are the quickest to this milestone.

7 – Rohit Sharma scored 162 runs off 137 deliveries which included 20 fours and 4 sixes. This is his 7th 150+ score in this format of the game. Sachin Tendulkar and David Warner with five 150+ scores each are joint second in this list.
