He’s one of the most popular bowlers in world cricket at the moment, is Rashid Khan. Coming from a war-torn country like Afghanistan, no one would’ve imagined we’d have such a talented young cricketer and he’s loved across the world today. He’s loved not just for his antics on the field but for his attitude towards the game and passion as well.
He’s in the news again but this time for an unfortunate reason. Rashid took to Twitter to announce that he had lost his mother to illness. He tweeted, “You were my home my mother I had no home but you. i can’t believe you are no more with me you will #MOTHER missed forever . Rest In Peace.”

It was only last week that Rashid took to Twitter to share with his fans that his mother was unwell and he asked them all to keep her in their prayers. He said, “Ya Allah ! Give my mother a good health. Please remember her in your prayers.” The cause of her death is uncertain at this point of time but we’re assuming it was prolonged illness.

The Afghani bowler is one of the most rapidly rising stars in international cricket and was also the first Afghanistan player to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he represents the Sunrisers Hyderabad. He has a number of international records to his name at the young age of just 21 years.
It was just around 18 months ago that Rashid lost his father as well, while he was on tour playing for Adelaide Strikers. One day after he got the news, an emotional Rashid Khan played against the Melbourne Renegades. Overall, he already has 296 T20 wickets in 211 T20 games and there’s years of Rashid domination still to be seen.
