The 2021 ICC T20 World Cup is on in full swing in UAE and Oman and today, we’re not here to tell you about some upcoming match or to give you a summary of yesterday’s game either. In fact, we’re here to highlight a unique seating arrangement that was noticed in the Zayed Cricket Stadium in Abu Dhabi, which hasn’t been seen before around the world.
Of course in times of Covid-19, social distancing is a must, even though most people are double vaccinated as of now. And the Zayed Cricket Stadium decided to get a little creative while practising social distancing norms too. The ground is designed in such a way to have bleachers on one side and open lawns on the other, and this arrangement was made on the lawn side.
They decided to create temporary fenced boxes which are well away from each other in terms of distance. Each of these boxes could hold up to three people and fans can sit or sleep or do as they please in these boxes. Users on social media reacted in different ways to these boxes, one even likening it to popular Facebook game, Farmville.

Fans were seen enjoying themselves in these boxes, which were first revealed during the opening game of the Super 12s in the 2021 T20 World Cup. This game took place between South Africa and Australia and the latter ended up winning the low scoring encounter in the final over of the game, with Marcus Stoinis hitting the winning runs.
Games of the T20 World Cup Qualifiers were already taking place in Abu Dhabi but this sitting arrangement wasn’t revealed during that time. UAE is known for brilliant designs and infrastructure across the country and here’s a small and cute example of the same. For more updates from the T20 World Cup 2021, stay tuned to ReadScoops.com…
