Just a few days back, Read Scoops announced the news of the UAE cricket team scheduled to play a historic single T20I match against Australia in Abu Dhabi. Why historic? It’s the first time UAE will be playing Australia in this format of the game, giving the latter a warm up before they play Pakistan in a series of 3 T20Is.
It’s a maaaaaaaasssive opportunity for every member of that UAE squad, and UAE Cricket as a whole. Each of those players will get a chance to showcase their talents on a new stage, while this could give UAE Cricket the chance to schedule more matches/series against top international sides like Australia.
The one-off game will be played tomorrow, 22nd October 2018, at 3:30pm IST (2pm local time) and the game will be played at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium Nursery 1, Abu Dhabi. Read Scoops caught up with UAE captain Rohan Mustafa to know what the feeling is like approaching what may be one of the biggest matches of his career so far.
We didn’t get the time to get too much from Mustafa as we didn’t want to take up much of his time, given the fact that the team has been busy in preparations for this mega encounter. Even though the Aussie team seems a little dilapidated without Warner and Smith, it’s still going to be a steep mountain to climb for Afghanistan.
We’re hoping Rohan Mustafa and his boys can shine in their debut game against Australia in the shortest format of the game. Keep reading ReadScoops.com for more updates on the Australia tour of UAE.
