We all love a little bit of friendly banter between our favourite cricketers, whether on the field or off the field. Social media these days gives us a lot of reasons to smile and sometimes even laugh. This is precisely what happened when we were scrolling on Twitter today and saw the latest tweet by Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
Lovingly referred to as Sir Ravindra Jadeja, the southpaw is out of action due to injury and probably has a lot of free time on his hands now, considering he’s not only out of the Australia and South Africa tours of India, but also out of the 2022 T20 World Cup. Today, he took a dig at his so called ‘dear friend’ Sanjay Manjrekar in a very funny post on his Twitter handle.
Jadeja calls Sanjay Manjrekar ‘dear friend’
Jaddu tweeted a picture of Sanjay Manjrekar on his television screen, as the latter was busy doing post-match duties in the ongoing Legends League Cricket Season 2, where a bunch of retired professional from across the world are in action. Today, India Capitals beat Manipal Tigers and Manjrekar was given the responsibility of handling the post-match presentation.
He posted a picture of Manjrekar doing the post-match presentation, with the caption, “Watching my dear friend on screen @sanjaymanjrekar”. For those who about their history, this is actually a very sarcastic post by Jaddu, as the two have fallen out a few times on social media, beginning after the commentator called Jaddu a ‘bits and pieces player’.

Post that, Jaddu reverted with asking Manjrekar to reduce his ‘verbal diarrhoea’. Thus began a great rivalry between these two and now, Jadeja’s post was received with mixed reactions. Some enjoyed the tweet and had a great laugh as we did, while many others criticised Jaddu and asked him to rise above all these games and unnecessary rivalries. Take a look at the tweet:

Jaddu was recently in surgery after being ruled out of the 2022 Australia tour of India and he’s in recovery now, so has a lot of time on his hands, clearly. We all know Sanjay Manjrekar to not be someone to let go and accept defeat that easily, also continuing the bits and pieces joke way more than required. Here’s him joking about it on air much later after the original incident:
"By bits 'n' pieces of sheer brilliance, he's ripped me apart on all fronts."@sanjaymanjrekar has something to say to @imjadeja after the all-rounder's fantastic performance against New Zealand.#INDvNZ | #CWC19 pic.twitter.com/i96h5bJWpE

We hope however, that this latest tweet is not one of malice but is being doing for a laugh and as a tease. A little bit of fun banter never hurts, as long as there’s no actual enmity brewing between the two. It’s actually been a while since their bits and pieces fallout, so this latest tweet was a good reminder for many of his followers and fans across the world.
