In a completely new initiative which would see our heroes of he yesteryear in action, the Legends League Cricket (LLC T20) was launched for its inaugural season in Jan 2022. Three teams took part namely the India Maharajas, World Giants, and Asian Lions. The tournament took place between these teams in Oman, Muscat, and it was quite a success indeed.
World Giants went on to win the title and they had some really massive names in their setup including Kevin Pietersen, Morne Morkel, and others. And just as you thought that seeing these legends in action couldn’t get any better, Legends League Cricket Season 2 was announced, with the organisers promising a much bigger and better affair the second time around. New names in Legends League Cricket Season 2
They’ve gone on to sign many more former international cricketers from around the world for LLC Season 2, which is scheduled to take place in Sep-Oct 2022, and this time in India itself. While the venue is decided, the squads are yet to be finalised and with so many new names being added to the roster, LLC T20 could even consider adding a fourth team to the tournament.
Among those being announced to play in LLC 2 were former Nepal captain Paras Khadka. It’s great to see this legendary Nepali batter in the tournament as usually, Nepal isn’t considered for such global leagues. In officially recognised international status games, Khadka scored a century each in 10 ODIs and 33 T20Is for Nepal before announcing his retirement from international cricket.

He also picked up 17 wickets in those 43 international status games and it’s great to see the 34-year old get a chance to share the dressing room with such legends from around the world. The entire country of Nepal was happy to hear Khadka being added to the tournament, and the current Nepal captain Sandeep Lamichhane shared his happiness on Twitter as well:

Khadka is one of many other names that have been confirmed to play in LLC Season 2. Among the new names are South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis, veteran Sri Lankan opening bowler Chaminda Vaas, Zimbabwe former cricketers Christopher Mpofu and Elton Chigumbura, Kiwi pacers Mitchell McClenaghan and Ian Butler, India’s Laxmi Ratan Shukla, and others.
On 23rd July 2022 before these few names above were announced, there were already some fixed names in the squads. They posted those names along with a caption reading, “Here we go with the next 20 of the Twenty20. Legends League Cricket season 2 is getting BIGGER & BOLDER. Recently retired West Indian cricketers Denesh Ramdin and Lendl Simmons will also add a lot of flavour and colour to LLC Season 2, being signed here just a few days after they called it quits from international cricket.
