IMC Over 40s World Cup Winners List

International Masters Cricket (IMC) introduced a veteran’s format of international cricket, one where players can participate at a global stage, to bring home top honours for their respective countries. They host veteran’s cricket world cups across multiple age categories including Over 40s, Over 50s, Over 60s, and the Over 70s age group.

While there have been several editions of the other age groups, the IMC Over 40s World Cup’s first edition was announced this year, between 17 Feb and 1 March 2024. Taking place in Cape Town, South Africa, the 2024 IMC Over 40s World Cup had a total of 12 participating teams divided into two groups of six countries each. The live streams were made available on the IMC Facebook page.

Multiple matches were scheduled on each day of the IMC Over 40s World Cup 2024 schedule, across multiple local grounds in Cape Town. If you look at the squads of the teams, you’d find many recently retired cricketers and many others who didn’t get the opportunity to participate at the international level for men’s professional side over the years.

The participants of the initial Over 40s Cricket World Cup were – Australia, Canada, England, Namibia, USA, Zimbabwe, India, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, UAE, and Wales. Since it’s the first edition of the tournament, there’s no update on the winners list as yet. However, we at Read Scoops will update this page as soon as there are new winners announced. Australia, England, South Africa, and New Zealand all began the inaugural tournament with 3 consecutive wins, so they could be considered as some of the favourites to go on to win.

Zimbabwe’s Douglas Marillier, New Zealand’s James Marshall, England’s Nick Compton, and others are some of the known ex-international players who made the squads for the 2024 IMC Over 40s World Cup. It’s sure to be an exciting event and we hope to see the growth of this competition in years to come, while the frequency is yet to be decided by the organisers.
