And now, they’re planning on changing that with the launch of Major League Cricket (MLC) which is going to revolutionize the game in America, with a lot of international superstars being a part of the inaugural season.

MLC 2023 dates and schedule
The first edition will have a total of 19 T20s on the MLC 2023 schedule, which includes four games in the MLC 2023 playoffs. These matches will be played at different venues in the USA, with the last four matches including the finals to be played in Dallas. The MLC 2023 dates were announced quite a few weeks back, with the first ever edition of the tournament taking place between 13-30 July 2023.
The MLC 2023 schedule involves mostly single games a day but on four days during the tournament, we will see double headers as well. This includes three days during the round robin stage and the first day of the playoffs where Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will take place. The MLC 2023 season will follow a round-robin and playoffs format with each team already having announced their respective head coaches and captains as well. American Cricket Enterprises is the organisers of the event and we’re expecting it to be a massive success, which will drive the further growth of cricket in this country.
As per the tournament rules, each team will play each other once which means 5 games each. From these, the top four teams on the MLC 2023 points table at the end of the round robin will qualify to the MLC 2023 playoffs. The first two will obviously get a second go at the title if they lose Qualifier 1 (Place 1 vs Place 2), getting a chance in Qualifier 2 as well.

Three teams with same owners as the IPL teams including Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai will be participating in MLC 2023 which means there’s not going to be an issue with popularity of these franchises in the first edition of the competition.
