The Big Bash League (BBL) made its debut in 2011-12 and is almost always played when the Australian season begins each year, around Dec-Jan each year. It is one of the most entertaining T20 franchise leagues across the world and every year, they bring out innovations that haven’t been seen before in other tournaments, including helmet cams, indoor stadiums, LED stumps, power surges, x-factor players, Bash Boost points, and more…
8 franchise teams have always been a part of the tournament and currently, Perth Scorchers is the most successful team in BBL history, winning the title five (5) times so far, while Sydney Sixers is close behind with three (3) titles to their name. So far, we’ve had 12 completed seasons of the Big Bash League and you can keep reading this page for our complete Big Bash League winners list from start till date.
The inaugural Big Bash League tournament was won by Sydney Sixers and from there, it took them another eight seasons before completing their second BBL victory, doing so in the 2019/20 season, and then backing it up with a title defense in the next season as well. Apart from these three wins, they’ve made three other finals, all ending in losing causes.
Perth made the finals of all of the first four editions of the Big Bash League, winning two and losing two, also holding the record for the most number of BBL finals by any team – eight (8) finals. We’ve put up an in-depth Big Bash League winners list, last updated 15th December 2023, during the BBL 13 (2023/24) season, along with the Man of the Match in every edition’s final. Check out the list below:

When it comes to individual performances, quite a few players have risen to fame because of big contributions in a Big Bash League final. However, no player is yet to have been given the MOM award in two different BBL finals. Among the most memorable performances in a BBL final will have to be Jake Weatherald’s 115(70) which helped Adelaide Strikers to their one and only BBL title in 2017/18.
