If you do a Google search for the most trolled wicket-keeper of all-time, this man’s name might show up. Hell, he may even be in the list of all-time most trolled cricketers in general. We’re talking about Pakistan wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal who comes from a family of international cricketers and has had a long career for the national side as well.
However, one thing that has always plagued him was dropping catches. Whether it’s international cricket or the domestic franchise leagues or whether it’s any form of the game, he’s managed to drop catches everywhere. Head over to YouTube and you’ll even find compilation videos of him dropping catches, some funny ones and some pretty straightforward ones!
Kamran Akmal drops a catch in LLC T20
All games are being played in Oman and today was Match 1 of the 2022 Legends League Cricket T20 was played between India Maharajas and Asia Lions. Chasing a competitive total of 170+ totals, the Maharajas were on the backfoot from early on, and quick wickets would’ve helped their case. And they got the perfect chance when Nuwan Kulasekara was bowling to wicket-keeper batsman, Naman Ojha.
A very Test-type of bowling line and length, Kulasekara beat the bat and as the ball carried through to the keeper, it went straight in and straight out. How many times we’ve seen this in his career and it seems to have plagued the eldest Akmal brother. Here, the 40-year old once again become the joke of all netizens on social media for this drop.

It was only recently that Akmal’s name came up in the draft of the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Being one of the top run scorer’s in the history of the PSL T20 league, he was a bit disappointed to see his name being selected in a lower category, and thought it better to skip the season instead. Like we said earlier, it’s not the first time he’s dropped a catch at the highest level and it’s probably not going to be the last. However, being one of the few cricketers in the league to still be playing professional cricket, you’d expect the best standard of cricket from him. Coming to the match, Asia Lions batted first and managed a good score of 175/7.
The innings was headlined by Sri Lanka’s Upul Tharanga who is recently retired and top scored for the team with 66 while former Pakistan captain Misbah ul Haq was in some murderous form as well, smashing 44(30). But India’s Yusuf Pathan had plans of his own as he smashed a brilliant fifty, ending with 80(40) and recovering India’s score from 34/3 to going on to get the victory!
