The Big Bash League (BBL) comes back every year with a promise to deliver the most excitement and entertainment for fans watching all across the world. Today, 7th Dec 2021, we saw a game where two teams hit by national side call ups took on each other. The Melbourne Renegades vs Adelaide Strikers clash had a number of new faces and most of them delivered today in Match 3 of BBL 2021/22…
After having won the toss and choosing to bat first, Renegades put up 153/9 and they were way below par and disappointed too. From 139/3, they would’ve been expecting 170+ and the collapse at the end took them into the halfway break with a loss in momentum. However, a few wickets and good fielding in the early part of the chase kept them in the game.

Afghanistan’s Zahir Khan came in to bowl the 7th over with one wicket already under his belt when he saw the catch of the tournament of BBL 2021/22 (even though it’s still the start of the season) where 19-year old Jake Fraser-McGurk took an absolute blinder on the boundary line. A one-handed catch that he won’t forget anytime soon, Strikers were reduced to 50/2.
The Victoria lad is still young and new to the game, especially a game like the Big Bash League. The unbelievable timing on the leap and at full-stretch too, the one-handed catch dismissed Jake Weatherald and the momentum shifted again after that wicket. Zahir Khan picked up his second wicket and it was game on after that.

The young boy was thrilled to bits after taking the catch, and why not?! This will surely go down as one of the top ten catches in BBL history, and he has every right to be proud of it.
