The bowlers don’t get enough of credit when it comes to the T20 format, and hat-tricks in particular are something that rarely come about. However, we’ve seen a few hat-tricks in the Indian Premier League (IPL) ever since inception way back in 2008. In fact, some players have even gone on to get multiple IPL hat-tricks, stamping their authority in the history of this competition.
The first IPL season was played in 2008 and that season itself saw three IPL hat-tricks being taken, setting the tone for the rest of the competition’s history. This page was last updated on 26th April 2025 and on that date, as many as 22 IPL hat-tricks were claimed from start till date, with the latest one being that of Rashid Khan for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023. The IPL hat-tricks list above proves one thing and that’s the fact that you don’t need to be a frontline, strike bowler in order to be successful at all times. Quite a few part-timers have got IPL hat-tricks and one of them is iconic all-rounder Yuvraj Singh who has his name in this list twice, becoming the first cricketer to get two hat-tricks in the Indian Premier League.

And still, he doesn’t hold the record for most IPL hat-tricks because that lies with leg-spinner Amit Mishra who bagged as many as three (3) IPL hat-tricks between 2009-2013, for Delhi Daredevils, Deccan Chargers, and Sunrisers Hyderabad. It’s also noted that the number of spinners to get hat-tricks in this competition is way more than the number of medium pacers / fast bowlers.
The unfortunate record for being a hat-trick victim on two separate occasions lies with Shardul Thakur, who was the third person to be dismissed in each of Tye and Rashid’s hat-tricks. This page will be updated in real-time, as and when there are more IPL hat-tricks bagged by bowlers in future editions.
