IPL 2018 saw them finishing 6th in the points table and every year, we ask whether this could be their year. Every year, we say why not? They have no shortage of world-class players, in fact they were spoilt for choice and this year, they released the unwanted overseas players and decided to stick with a fewer lot. Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in the middle order could probably be the toughest duo to dismiss in IPL 2019, like they have been over the last couple of years too.
They’ve purchased the hard-hitting Shimron Hetmyer and if the history of Caribbean players doing well in the IPL is anything to go by, he could be a brilliant addition to the side. Another exciting signing for 2019 is Marcus Stoinis, who recently had a brilliant Big Bash League 2018/19, with both bat and all. He’s a floater in the batting order and we could very well see him take the opening slot alongside Virat Kohli or Parthiv Patel. Expect Stoinis to be a regular part of the team.
Apart from Stoinis and de Villiers having their positions secured, Tim Southee is almost a certain starter. Last year, there was a fight between Moeen Ali and Colin de Grandhomme for a spot in the team and they both performed. Ali had a long wait before he got a chance in IPL 2018 but when he got his opportunity, he made it worth the while. We could very well see this situation happening this year too. Two exciting domestic signings include Akshdeep Nath and Gurkeerat Singh Mann.

Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers will be the focal point of the team, but will the rest of the squad be able to support these two icon players? If there is support, there will be better results for RCB in 2019. For more updates on their campaign this year, keep following ReadScoops.com.
