Never before have a team gone overseas and won 9-0, in a tour where all three formats are involved – that’s how great India’s performance was in Sri Lanka. The tour is now done and dusted, with the Indian Cricket Team walking away with a 100% success rate.

India are only preparing themselves for the tougher challenge that lies ahead of them (Australia), while Sri Lanka Cricket have some serious thinking to do, and serious decisions to make. What’s a good name to call this? Tourwash? Indiawash?

Of course, you have to feel sad for Upul Tharanga, who has captained the Sri Lanka team and failed miserably. He says he won’t step down after this humiliating home tour but it’s not really his fault. Sri Lanka are just going through a very bad transition period and the sooner they recover, the better for them and their chances of qualifying for the 2019 ICC World Cup.

All in all, this was a comprehensive victory, just like every other game on this tour and India are making a habit of winning now, under this charismatic leader Virat Kohli. Australia – BEWARE.
