There have been some great contributions in U19 World Cup finals over the years but one of the most memorable ones will be Raj Bawa from the 2022 U19 World Cup, where he not only picked up a 5-fer with the ball, but he also scored a vital 35(54) in the chase for India U19 to secure their fifth title in this competition. Anwar Ali did something similar in 2006, scoring 17(42) and bagging 5/35 with the ball.

While the first edition of the tournament saw eight teams participating, all subsequent editions had 16 participants which includes teams from associate ICC nations as well. However, none of these associate national have excelled or reached a final in any edition of the ICC U-19 World Cup as yet. From the 2026 U19 World Cup onwards, there will be 24 participating teams in every competition.
