Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament recently took to their social media handles to announce the complete list of fixtures for their upcoming tournament. We’re talking about the Pakistan Super League (PSL) and we’re all set for another edition of the HBL PSL (named so because of sponsorship reasons) which will take place between 27 Jan – 27 Feb 2022!
The countdown to HBL PSL 7 has already begun and a total of 34 T20 games have been scheduled in the seventh edition of Pakistan Cricket Board’s marquee event. With security no longer a huge issue, the tournament is being scheduled in Pakistan itself and Multan Sultans will play the opening game, opening their title defence campaign against the Karachi Kings.

The first leg of HBL PSL 7 which includes 15 T20 games will be played at Karachi while the second leg of 19 games will be played at Lahore, with the PSL 7 finals scheduled to take place on 27 Feb 2022. Every team will play the same number of home and away games, while each will also play an equal number of day and day/night matches.
The much-awaited HBL PSL Draft 2022 will be the next big event in the build up to the tournament, and it’s set to take place on Sunday, 12 December 2021, at 3pm PKT (3:30 pm IST) at the High Performance Centre in Lahore, Pakistan. Players being bumped up to the Platinum Category include Asif Ali, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Rizwan.
Each team will go into the HBL PSL 7 draft with a maximum of eight player retentions, and it’ll be interesting to see which players go to which franchises ahead of this big tournament. We hope not to see any disturbances in PSL 2022 like last season, with a Covid-19 outbreak pausing the tournament for a few months.
