It’s a perfect Sunday for Indian cricket fans as India play Australia in the 4th ODI of the ongoing series at Mohali. One thing is for sure is that if the home team want to be victorious, they need to ensure it’s an India vs Australia clash and not a ‘Virat Kohli vs Australia’ clash. He now has 2 consecutive hundreds but the 3rd ODI saw him fighting a single-handed battle against the Aussies.
Now at Mohali, India has had a good record over the years, but not against Australia. The last three times that these two have played here, Australia have emerged victorious each time. Currently, Australia seem to have a more settled-down team combination and they have a chance of keeping up the good work and levelling the series 2-2. Keep reading for our fantasy preview of the 5th ODI…

India
The home team will be looking at a few big changes. The first big news is that of MS Dhoni being rested for the rest of the series, meaning an opportunity for either one of Rishabh Pant or Dinesh Karthik. I personally feel DK is a much better option as he has proved to be a ‘smarter’ cricketer and knows how to play every situation. However, this isn’t sure so I’d fill my wicket-keeper spot with Australia’s Alex Carey. With the bat, ensure you have Rohit Sharma in your fantasy team as he scored 208 at this ground in 2017!
The next possible change is that of Bhuvneshwar Kumar coming in for Mohammad Shami, with the latter seeming to have a niggle in the last game. With Ravindra Jadeja’s inability to play as per the situation of the game in the 3rd ODI, he may be dropped for Yuzvendra Chahal and this could very well be the end of Jaddu’s ODI career. KL Rahul is waiting on the sidelines but India have showed faith in Shikhar Dhawan in the past, so the latter may keep his spot even though he has only 0, 21 & 1 this series.
Australia
After their win in the 3rd ODI, Australia will be tempted to retain the same playing eleven. With the ball, I will definitely want to have Adam Zampa and Jhye Richardson in my team. Zampa picked up 3 crucial wickets in the last game and he has even dismissed Kohli 5 times in his career thus far. Richardson also picked up 3/37 in the last game.
Aaron Finch was already a popular fantasy pick and after his 93 in the last game, he will be in even more teams. However, I’m going to stick with the left-handed duo of Shaun Marsh and Usman Khawaja. Finch has played a lot of IPL cricket here too, but this is a gamble we’re willing to take in the 5th ODI.
