However, UAE can take out a lot of positives from the 2nd ODI, where they lost by just 4 runs due to DL method. It probably could have been a better outcome for them.
Now, they have one last chance to redeem themselves in a must-win match – the 3rd ODI. Zimbabwe on the other hand will be looking to keep the good performances on and go in for a 4-0 whitewash. In the last game, I recommended picking up all three Zimbabwe pacers and right enough, this would’ve done you the trick as all of Donald Tiripano, Tendai Chatara and Kyle Jarvis were among the wickets. I’d stick to the same three for the 3rd ODI and with all of his English county experience, Jarvis could also be made your vice captain Jarvis has 6 wickets so far, Tiripano has 5, Chatara has 4.
Sikandar Raza is among one of my favourite cricketers but he isn’t getting much of a chance with the bat, so I’ll pick him as a normal player. Regis Chakabva has scores of 38 and 78 so far in the two ODIs he has played and he becomes my wicket-keeper pick of the game. UAE’s Ghulam Shabber also scored a fifty in the 3rd ODI so it’ll be an interesting tussle. However, Chakabva is an opener.
UAE
It has been disappointing to see UAE’s performances so far on this tour but one can only hope for better performances, what with two players scoring fifties in the 2nd ODI. Ashfaq Ahmed is someone who scored a century in the warm up game prior to this series and we’re yet to see him fire. Pick him and the experienced Shaiman Anwar. However, maintain a 7-4 fantasy team in favour of Zimbabwe.
Former captain Rohan Mustafa has scores of 10 and 0 so far but he is one of their most experienced players, with T20 franchise teams signing him around the world. He also has the ability of picking up wickets, having got 3 scalps so far this series as well. He could be selected as vice-captain as well.
