Numbers

  • Last 5 games head to head, England Women lead 4-1.
  • Danielle Wyatt – 2 fifties, 1 century in last 10 games.
  • Shafali Verma – 2 fifties in 5 T20Is against WI Women recently.

England Women

The side is being led by all-rounder Heather Knight but she hasn’t been at her prominent best in recent months with just 1 fifty and only 3 wickets in her last 10 games. I’ll skip her for less expensive players. Another highly expensive fantasy pick is Tammy Beaumont who you can pick if you have the budget but remember, she also has just one 50+ score in her last 10 games which is very unlike her.

Talking about all-round contributors, Natalie Sciver is a part of the squad and she brings a lot of experience to the fray, with 7 wickets, a fifty and a century in her last 10 outings. Danielle Wyatt has shown some great form and she recently also scored 110 against PAK Women in December, and she usually brings out her best against India. Sophie Ecclestone has 9 wickets in her last 5 games and can be a good fantasy pick.

India Women

India Women is being led by Harmanpreet Kaur and once again, she hasn’t had a 50+ score in 10 games which means I’ll leave her out of my fantasy side for better picks like Shafali Verma. The newbie has done well and ended as the top scorer of the recent 5-game T20 series against WI Women. With 2 fifties and 2 forties in her last 10 international games, Jemimah Rodrigues is also a good choice.

Deepti Sharma has been one of India’s most consistent wicket-takers with at least one scalp in all her last 8 games, so she’s a must-have in my Howzat (sign-up with code “READ1234”) fantasy team. Though she doesn’t have great scores with the bat in recent times, she’s a threat in the middle order too. Another worthy pick with the ball is leg-break bowler Poonam Yadav who has 14 scalps in her last 10 games.
