The 2019 Women’s Super Smash is running alongside the men’s competition and so far, there hasn’t been any less excitement in the women’s tournament at all. We’re set now for Match 15 of the season and we have Central Hinds Women in action once again, having only 2 wins in their 6 games so far. They played yesterday now play back-to-back with a chance to return to winning ways.
It’s now or never for Hinds but I believe it’s going to be tough once again, this time because they’re playing another tough opposition in Auckland Hearts Women. The Hearts are unbeaten in the 2019 Women’s Super Smash so far, with 4 wins in 4 games this season. Numbers
- Auckland Women in 4 wins so far – 3 came batting first.
- Hannah Rowe – wicketless in last 4 matches this season.
- Anna Peterson in last 10 professional games – 18 wickets.
Central Hinds Women
The first automatic pick for me in this team is captain Jess Watkin as she contributes with both bat and ball. So far, she has 3 wickets in 6 games and has been good with the bat, with 168 runs including a top score of 95. Co-captain Hannah Rowe picked 4 wickets in her first 2 games and has been disappointing since then. However, she has had a good last few months and I’ll pick her in my fantasy team.
Talking about wickets, Claudia Green went without any success in her first 4 games this tournament and she will have a little bit more confidence after picking her first wicket in the last game. Not many will be picking her, so she’s a gold mine here. Wicket-keeper Natalie Dodd has been brilliant with 3 twenties and 2 forties and just a single failure this season, so she’s worth picking as well.
Auckland Hearts Women
Captain Anna Peterson is also worthy of being your fantasy side’s captain as she has managed at least a wicket in every game along with a top score of 61 which she got in the last game. She is their top wicket taker and second highest run scorer so far. The highest run scorer is Katie Perkins who has 3 fifties and a century in her last 10 games with just one single-digit score, with 2 fifties so far this tournament.
With the ball, we have a rather interesting pick for your MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team – Arlene Kelly. She had only 1 wicket in her last 6 games before this tournament but has managed 5 in just 4 games here. At the top of the order is the young girl from Mumbai Saachi Shahri and the 22-year old is a promising talent who is a good fantasy pick as well.
