It has been a really boring 2019 ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Cup so far. We’ve had 4 scheduled games so far and all four have been washed out thanks to the bad weather conditions in Sri Lanka at the moment. It’s the last game day today with 2 games scheduled at the same time. If we manage to get play, both of today’s winners will walk straight into the final of the tournament.
Simultaneously, we also have Match 5 between IND Women and PAK Women kicking off. Match 6 will see Bangladesh Women in action, as they try to get the better of the hosts, Sri Lanka Women in their own backyard. Numbers
- Shaila Sharmin in last T20I – 3 runs and 2/9 with the ball.
- Murshida Khatun in last 3 T20Is – 26, 13, 33.
Bangladesh Emerging Team
The team is being led by Shaila Sharmin and she is a must-have considering she’s a part of the national side too; she event played T20Is last month. Batting in the middle order, she picked 2/9 in her last game against Thailand W covering up for not having many big scores recently. Involvement in the game is why I’m picking her. Nahida Akter is another regular part of the national side, with 17 wickets in her last 8 T20Is.
Someone you shouldn’t miss in your fantasy team for today’s BDW-E vs SLW-E contest is batter Murshida Khatun. She has been scoring consistently for BAN Women in recent games. Recently, she played 3 T20 internationals in Dundee and made sure that she had a start in al 3 games. Your x-factor bowler for today can be Islam Trisna since most players don’t know much about her bowling style.
Sri Lanka Women Emerging Team
Sri Lanka named a 15-player squad but didn’t announce their captain. It could be either of Hasini Perera or Harshitha Madavi. Madavi has consistent scores of 24, 39, 22, 28 in her last 4 matches; this consistency wins her a place in my fantasy team. As for Hasini Perera, she has scored in double digits only 4 times in her last 10 games, with a best of 27. 60+ internationals though means a lot of experience, and that’s why I’ll choose her.
All-rounders are good for fantasy leagues and Malsha Shehani is a potential all-rounder to pick in your MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team; she has 5 wickets and a best of 31 in her last 10 games. Another good all-round option is Kavisha Dilhari who has 5 wickets in a total of 10 international games for PAK Women, along with 93 runs with the bat in those games.
