West Indies has been having a good few months in recent times, also giving India a tough time in India towards the end of last year. Now, they depart on yet another tour in the sub-continent area, where they will play 3 ODIs and 2 T20 between now and 6th March 2020. Sri Lanka Cricket XI
The side is going to be captained by wicket-keeper batsman Upul Tharanga who hasn’t been in the best form in recent months, but he has plenty of experience as compared to the others in the SLC-XI squad. Another wicket-keeper batsman in the squad is Sadeera Samarawickrama and he’s likely to open the innings, having scored 3 fifties in his last 9 domestic games across formats for Colts.
All-rounders are key and Asela Gunaratne is someone who was a major part of the national side before he had to head out due to injury. He’s been good with the bat and last I remember, he’s a frequent wicket-taker as well, though he hasn’t been bowling as much. Youngster Pathum Nissanka has been impressive with the bat over the last couple of years and he’s coming off a big score of 129 for Nondescripts as well.

Shimron Hetmyer and Evin Lewis failed the fitness test so they won’t be a part of the 15-man squad, so don’t bother picking them in your MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team either. Returning to the squad are Fabian Allen, Rovman Powell, and left-handed batsman Darren Bravo, the latter having 5 fifties and 1 century (133) in his last 9 professional matches, displaying fine form of late.
The side will be led by Kieron Pollard and he has matured in his batting over the last year or so, doing well against India recently too. It’s an added bonus that he bowls sometimes as well. Talking about bowling, Hayden Walsh Jr is also in the squad and he’s been in some great rhythm, the leg-spinner ending as the top wicket-taker in CPL 2019 before also making his international debut for West Indies recently.
