Chris Gayle is an automatic choice in the team but he won’t be a part of my fantasy team as he hasn’t done well against India in recent years, with an overall ODI average of 32 against them. There will be a dilemma over the opening partner of either John Campbell or Evin Lewis, the latter having scores of 0, 0, 10 in the three T20s. We expect them to show continued faith in Lewis.
One must-pick player in your fantasy side is Jason Holder, who has led the side well and he produces the right efforts with bat and ball both. All-rounders always get you the most points in fantasy cricket and that’s why I’ll also be picking Roston Chase, who picked 6 wickets and had a best score of 84 in 5 recent List A games against India A. The x-factor player with the bat could be Shimron Hetmyer.
India
India’s team might be tough to predict but we’re expecting the normal top three of Rohit, Shikhar and Kohli to play the 1st ODI. Virat Kohli had two failures and then hit a fifty in the 3rd T20 and he’s one of my first Nostragamus (sign-up with “READSCOOPS” for Rs.100 FREE) fantasy picks for this game. In all ODI history between these two sides, Kohli is the highest run-getter with 1,912 runs in 33 innings, averaging 70+ with the bat.
Ravindra Jadeja’s performance in the World Cup semi-final means he will be a vital part of the team here and he’s a must-pick in your fantasy team. India’s number 5 position is up for grabs with 3 players to choose from including Kedar Jadhav, Manish Pandey and Shreyas Iyer. Pandey would be my first choice but with Jadhav being in the original World Cup squad, he may get first preference. Similarly, wait for the toss as the bowlers spots are also up for grabs!
