It’s the Women’s Champions League 2019 in Nepal where 5 teams are fighting for the glory. All games are being played at Kirtipur and we have a double header today. The first game is between Biratnagar and Pokhara Women and once that is done, we move on to Match 5 of the tournament where Chitwan Rhinos Women will be in action after winning their first game against Kathmandu by 5 wickets.
They are second on the pints table and they now play against Lalitpur Falcons who lost their first game of the season, second second to last on the points table after they suffered a big loss to Biratnagar in their opening game. Chitwan Rhinos Women
It was a bowlers day out for Chitwan Women in the last game and from them, the sixth bowler in Santoshi Chaudhari was the pick as they bowled out their opponents for 92 and Chaudhari picked up 3/14 in her 4 overs. Kabita Gautam and Rekha Rawal also picked up 2 wickets each and if I have to choose between the two, I’ll pick the former as she ended with 2/14 including 1 maiden in the last game.
It was an easy chase and the player to top score in pursuit of 93 was Suman Khatiwada who batted in the middle order and scored 29(23). She also opened the bowling so this player is a must have for her all-round abilities. The captain Indu Barma hasn’t been among the runs in recent game but she will play for sure, so I’ll pick this middle order specialist batter.
Lalitpur Falcons
The team is being led by 27-year old Nary Thapa who didn’t have a great opening game with 4 runs and no wickets. However, she has a great international record which boasts of 17 wickets in 11 T20Is to give with 63 runs and a best of 19. In Feb this year, she picked 12 wickets in three games against Hong Kong, UAE and Thailand Women. Pick this player as a captain or vice-captain for sure.
Even though she hasn’t got to double digits in her T20I career yet, Mamta Chaudhary scored 28 in the last game and she should be a part of your MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team as well, considering she bowls too. After scoring 13* way down the order in a failed batting attempt, bowler Samjhana Khadka picked up 2/9 in just 2 overs so she could also make a good fantasy pick.
