Almost all of the games in the 2019 South Asian Games T20 competition in Nepal have turned out to be one-sided ones, but we’re now set for what could be the first real contest here. Host nation Nepal is in action today and they’ve got 2 wins in 3 games so far. After a crushing loss to SL U-23 in the opening game, they’ve managed to bounce back with consecutive victories, high on confidence.
But again, they have a very tough opponent in the Bangladesh U-23 side, a team that has been ruthless so far, registering 2 wins in 2 games, and both with big victory margins. Their last game saw them chase down 70 against Bhutan in less than 7 overs, winning by 10 wickets. Nepal
The Nepal openers have each had one massive score in their three games so far, but if there’s one person in this team who has performed in all three games, it’s Dipendra Singh Airee so he becomes my first fantasy pick of the NEP vs BD U23 game. Captain Gyanendra Malla hasn’t been too bad either, with scores of 21, 107 and 19, getting a start in each game as compared to former captain Paras Khadka.
I’d still have Khadka in my team though, as he bowls too, picking 2/11 against Bhutan and 0/5 in 2 overs in the last game. Talking about wickets, left-arm spinner Lalit Rajbanshi could make a spot in your fantasy side too. These pitches will help him and after a wicketless opening game, he picked 3 in the next 2 games. Must have all-rounder player – Pawan Sarraf – 4 wickets in 3 games so far.
Bangladesh U-23
Bangladesh U-23 captain Soumya Sarkar should certainly be your fantasy team captain too, with scores of 46* and 50 so far this tournament. He has 100+ international games under his belt and has picked a wicket in both games so far too. His opening partner Mohammad Naim has also been in good form, with not even one single-digit score in his last 10 outings, which includes 2 fifties as well. Pick both of them.
In BAN U23’s second game, Afif Hossain was not needed with either bat or ball. However, this youngster can be a match-winner on his day, picking 2/7 in 4 overs in the first game. If you want another bowler in your MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team, it can be Tanvir Islam who bagged a 5-fer in the first game here in Nepal and added another scalp to his tally in the next game against Bhutan.
