They may not be in the same group of the Super 12s in the 2021 T20 World Cup, but these two play each other very often in international and junior level cricket. We’re talking about the 2021 Pakistan Shaheens tour of Sri Lanka which is all set to kick off in Pallekele, beginning with the first of two unofficial test matches. This will be followed by 2 unofficial ODIs as well, all to be played at the same international stadium.

Sri Lanka A will obviously hold the advantage as they’re playing at home and from either side, we ask you to give preference to those who have played at the highest level, or at least in certain professional leagues. They’re taking on Pakistan Shaheens and the latter won the last time they played a Test back in 2016. He’s not got too many big scores of late but he’s got five consecutive scores in double digits for Blues in the recent T20 domestic tournament and that’s why we’re picking Sadeera Samarawickrama as wicket-keeper of our SL-A vs PKS fantasy team, since he has international experience too. Another batting option is someone who has part of the national side until recently and narrowly missed on the T20 World Cup squad – Oshada Fernando.

Recently having graduated from the U-19 stage, Kamil Mishara is someone to watch for the future. He didn’t get any great score in the recent T20 season at home but got a couple of big centuries in the List A tournament prior to that, so he makes my SL-A vs PKS Dream11 team for sure. Lasith Embuldeniya will wreak havoc with the ball as he has 49 wickets in only 11 Tests and that includes 10 in his last test against England this year.

Pakistan Shaheens

He’s coming off a sub-par T20 tournament in Pakistan but Zahid Mahmood rose earlier this year because of consistent performances in the domestic level. He got a national side call-up too and his leg-breaks will do well in Sri Lanka, so we’re picking him today. Talking about bowlers, there’s Naseem Shah who made his international debut at the age of 16 years in 2019 and the teenager has pace that can trouble one and all.

With the bat, there’s Haider Ali who has broken a number of records in the U-19 level and was quick to feature for the national side too.
