Shpageeza Cricket League 2019 – BOD vs MAK Fantasy Preview

Between 7-18 October 2019, the Shpageeza Cricket League returns, the premier T20 tournament in Afghanistan which has turned out to be very entertaining in the past editions. 6 teams will battle it out during this time and in Match 2 of the tournament, we have Boost Defenders taking on Mis Ainak Knights, both of whom will be playing their first respective games of the 2019 season.

The league faced a lot of roadblocks but it’s finally underway, with the first game ending yesterday and Kabul winning by 35 runs. Go batting heavy in your fantasy teams as we saw nearly 400 aggregate runs being scored in the opening game, and we expect a similar pitch here. Numbers

  • Head to head in the Shpageeza League, Defenders lead 1-0.
  • Gulbadin Naib – 9 wickets in 9 games at CWC 2019.
  • Nisar Wahdat – 168 and 262 in FC games for Kabul earlier this year.
  • Mohammad Nabi – wicketless in 4 recent T20Is in Bangladesh.

Boost Defenders

The most popular Mohammad Shahzad is in the squad but with controversy always around him, there’s a chance he won’t be a part of this opening game for Boost. Some of the international names would be Hashmatullah Shahidi and new limited overs captain, Gulbadin Naib. Hashmat had fifties against major oppositions like New Zealand and England at the World Cup while Gulbadin was among the wickets in almost every game, while also promoting himself as an opener.

The very experienced Dawlat Zadran had 8 wickets in 5 games at CWC 2019 and he’s going to make my fantasy team for this game for sure. Another bowler to watch out for is Qais Ahmed, the 19-year old recently picking 7 wickets in just 3 games for Guyana at the CPL 2019 tournament. 22-year old Nisar Wahdat is someone who has major scores this year while Zimbabwe’s Brendan Taylor is also part of the squad.

Mis Ainak Knights

MAK will be captained by none other than Mohammab Nabi who recently went wicketless but scored 130 runs in 4 T20Is in Bangladesh and that all-round ability makes him my captain for today’s encounter. Along with him, there’s Ihsanullah who can be very reliable with the bat, who had some very big FC scores for Mis Ainak earlier this year including 159 against Band-Region and 259 against Boost in April this year.

Another player from this squad who has international experience and can be added to your MyFab11(sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team is Yamin Ahmadzai who has 8 wickets in his last 5 List A games for Mis Ainak. Batsman Noor Ali Zadran scored a List A century last month and is also in good form. Your x-factor player could be Tariq Stanikzai who had a couple of fifties for Speen-Ghar earlier this year, while also picking up a 5-fer for Kunar prior to that.
