This was one of the games on the Big Bash League 2021/22 fixtures list that was rescheduled due to Covid-19 but we’re not all set for Match 27 of BBL 11. Sitting pretty at the top of the BBL 11 points table is Perth Scorchers with only 2 losses in their 11 games this season and they’re clear favourites in most of the games they play this season, especially since they’re one of the few teams not hit by Covid-19 cases.
They’re up against Melbourne Stars who on the other hand is the worst affected team in BBL 11. In the last game, they had some of their players returning from isolation and they managed to stitch together a good 5-wicket victory in the last game, so they’re actually a little high on confidence coming into this one. Numbers
- Head to head in last 5 games, these teams are tied 2-2.
- Matthew Kelly – 10 wickets in 5 games in BBL 11.
- 83, 52, 85, 52 – Joe Clarke’s last 4 games this season.
Perth Scorchers
With scores of 11 and 19 in his last two games, not many will be picking Kurtis Patterson in their SCO vs STA fantasy teams but he’s been consistent and even has three fifties in BBL 2021/22 so far, so there’s no way we’re leaving him out. The captain Ashton Turner hasn’t had a great season this time but the last game saw him return to form with an unbeaten fifty and he’s risen when the middle order was looking a tad weak.
With the ball, there’s Andrew Tye who is leading the BBL 11 wicket-taker charts and he’s an automatic pick in our SCO vs STA Dream11 team but there’s also Matthew Kelly who played instead of Tymal Mills and he’s been great this season with a 4-fer to his name as well. If you’re looking at an added batting option, there’s Englishman Laurie Evans while we’re happy to see all-rounder Aaron Hardie doing well this season.
Melbourne Stars
With Glenn Maxwell still in isolation, it’s Adam Zampa who is leading the side and while he hasn’t been close to his best this season, he picked 2/25 in the last game and we’re now adding him to our side while we’re also picking the Afghanistan spinner Qais Ahmad since he’s hit a heavy ball as well. If you’re looking at an added bowling option, pick Brody Couch who has a wicket in almost every game and is their designated death overs bowler.

After a very poor start to the season with a couple of ducks included, Joe Clarke is now breaking records with four consecutive fifties in BBL 11 and we can’t leave him out of our MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) SCO vs STA fantasy team at any cost. Joe Burns played his first game of BBL 11 and scored only 9 and we’re hoping he comes out at his preferred opening position instead, while Hilton Cartwright has been their best hitter this season, so don’t drop him either.
