The Saudari Cup is an annual tournament series taking place between Singapore Women and Malaysia Women. Since the start of this tournament, Malaysia Women have won each and every edition so far, including the first game of this year’s 3-match T20 series. They batted first and won the 1st T20 by 22 runs, with two games left at the same venue – IAG, Singapore.
We don’t see very high scores in these Asian women games, so pick more of all-rounders and bowlers in your fantasy team. As we aren’t sure of the line-ups, pick the captains and those who did well in the 1st T20 just to be sure in case the line-ups aren’t out after the toss. Singapore Women
The wicket-keeper pick is a pointless one since both team’s keepers haven’t scored a single score of 20+ in their respective last 10 games but I’ll pick Shafina Mahesh as she’s the captain of Singapore and we know she’ll be in the playing eleven at least. The 32-year old GK Diviya has 11 wickets and a best score of 77* in her 10 career T20Is so far, and all-rounders are great for fantasy cricket. In the last game too, she top scored with 45.
Dhavina Sharma picked 2/30 on her international debut for Malaysia Women and this is an indication that spin will do well on this pitch, as Sharma is an off-spinner. Another off-spinner to consider picking in your fantasy team is Smruthi Radhakrishnan who hasn’t had much success in her career so far, but she did very well to bowl a maiden and her final figures read 1/19 in 4 overs.
Malaysia Women
The visitors are being led by Winifred Duraisingam and we can’t miss this player in our PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234”) fantasy team even though she scored only 5 runs and went wicketless in the 1st T20. She has 8 wickets and a fifty in her last 8 games for the country. She opens the innings with bat and ball so there’s always chances of picking up fantasy points.
Two players top scored for Malaysia Women in the last game and both also made it their career-best scores. One was Mas Elysa who scored 37 and she’s worth picking since she also bowls. Ainna Hamizah Hashim was the other player who scored a best of 37* but I’ll skip this player as she bats too low down the order and she only has 1 wicket in her last 8 T20Is for Malaysia.
