They tried batting first in the 1st ODI and then chased scores in the 2nd and 3rd ODI but everything that Pakistan U-19s have touched on this tour so far have turned to gold. Playing a series of 7 ODIs between Jun 22 – Jul 07 2019 against South Africa U-19s, the touring team has taken a 3-0 lead already and they look good to go on and wrap up the series in the 4th ODI at Pietermaritzburg. The action here is no less exciting than the ICC 2019 World Cup.
This is the same pitch where the 2nd and 3rd ODIs were played and by the looks of it, it’s a good wicket for the batsmen, with PAK U-19 chasing down 280 with ease, having 8 complete overs to spare. We expect the visitors to play an unchanged side and try to win the series in this 4th ODI. Keep reading for our Dotball (Sign-up and get Rs.51 FREE) fantasy preview of the SA U19 vs PAK U19 4th ODI…

South Africa U-19
SA U-19 captain Bryce Parsons had a rare failure in the 3rd ODI where he scored a duck and bagged no wickets. However, he is the best player in this team, with 4 wickets and 67 runs so far, so you can pick him as a captain or vice-captain of your fantasy team. The highest run scorer for South Africa so far in this series has been Ruan Terblanche (113 runs) and most of it came because of his 110 in the 3rd ODI.
Andrew Louw is also an option, scoring 91 in one game and only 17 in two other ODIs so far. Two options with the ball are Achilles Cloete who has 3 wickets in 2 games and Imraan Philander who has 2 wickets in 2 games. However, Cloete missed the last game while Philander missed the first, so pick after watching the toss. A safe pick however could come in Gerald Coetzee who batted and bowled in all three games so far – 53 runs and 2 wickets.
Pakistan U-19
I was very bullish on picking Rohail Nazir throughout the series but the PAK U-19 captain hasn’t been at his prime best on this tour so far, except in one lovely innings of 67. Regardless, I’ll be picking him as the SA U-19 wicket-keeper Khanya Cotani bats in the lower order and has only managed 49 runs in 3 games as compared to Nazir’s 102 runs. Remember, he scored 300+ runs in the ODI series against SL U-19 recently, where Haider Ali was also a top performer.

Ali scored 3 fifties in that series and he’s looking really good here as well, with 194 runs in 3 Youth ODIs including a century and a fifty and 116 in the last game. The name says it all for all-rounder Abbas Afridi. He hasn’t got too many chances with the bat, having played only 2 innings on this tour with the bat, but scoring as impressive 53* in one of them. He also has 6 wickets to go with that including 4/40 in the 3rd ODI, so I’ll be picking him in your Dotball (Sign-up and get Rs. 51 FREE) fantasy team.
