So Pakistan recently beat South Africa in the ICC 2019 World Cup and that’s going to prove to be some crazy encouragement for the U-19 junior team which is touring South Africa at the moment. The two youth teams are playing a series of 7 unofficial ODIs and in the 1st ODI, Pakistan U-19 beat South Africa U-19 by 17 runs.
The touring team is coming off a successful 3-2 series win in Sri Lanka as well so they have form on their side, while also having a number of highly talented players. The location shifts from Durban to Pietermaritzburg, with the latter playing host to the next 4 ODIs in the series. South Africa U-19
SA U19 is captain by Bryce Parsons and his fantasy performances across formats int he last couple of months made me select him as my captain. Right enough, it paid off well with Parsons scoring 57* to go with 2/34 with the ball. These all-round performances make me select Parsons as my captain once again. There’s no better genuine all-rounder across both teams who bats in the middle order and bowls all 10 overs frequently.
Gerald Coetzee is one good bowling option but he has shown a trend of not being able to pick up multiple wickets. In the 1st ODI, he picked up 1 wicket and that has been his limit in the last 10-odd games he as played. A better bowling option would thus come in Achille Cloete who also picked up only 1 wicket in the last game, but he has had better figures in the past including a List-A 4-for for Boland earlier this year.
Pakistan U-19
PAK U-19 made a slight change to their batting order dropping Rohail Nazir to number 3 and promoting Basit Ali to the top of the order. I’ll pick Nazir because of that beautiful series he had against Sri Lanka with 300+ runs in 5 games. However, with so many all-rounders in the mix, I’ll pick him as a normal player. Opener Haider Ali also scored 3 fifties in Sri Lanka and began the series with with 60 in the 1st ODI, so you can pick him as well.

The Afridi family seems to produce some of the est all-rounders in the business, with Abbas Afridi showing a lot of promise as well. The youngster picked up only 1 wicket in 4 ODIs in Sri Lanka but he stepped up in the 1st ODI here with 53* and 2/44, so he’s totally worth beg the vice-captain of your Dotball (Sign-up and get Rs. 51 FREE) fantasy team. Akhtar Shah has regularly been among the wickets and will be a good pick too.
