Beginning mid-way December, England set out on a tour of South Africa and this is turning out to be a pretty long tour indeed. They lost the first test but England came back strong to win the 4-match series 3-1 and now, they will play a couple of one day warm-up matches against South Africa Invitational XI before the 3-match ODI series kicks off.
The ODI series begins on 4th Feb but before that, 2 warm-ups will be played at Boland Park in Paarl. The SA XI team might be tricky to select and you’ll get a better idea after the first game, while the England side will be more straight up, having announced a 15-man squad. Bringing in loads of experience, Qaasim Adams is also someone you can pick with the bat, having some fifties in recent games.
At just 21 years of age, Jesse Christensen is one player who could rake in some big fantasy points, being a contributor with the bat and also sometimes picking a few wickets with his off-spinners. With the ball, Beyers Swanepoel is set to be the wicket-taker, having a few 5-fers in November during the South African FC season.

England have announced a 15-member squad wherein Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes are left out and captain Eoin Morgan returns to the side. I’ll skip Morgan today as he’s been out of action since the last couple of months. Tom Banton is the next big thing in English cricket and he’s expected to open the innings, coming off a successful stint with Brisbane Heat at the 2019/20 Big Bash League.
