England is on a tour of New Zealand and before you began the main tour, England XI got a chance to play two T20 warm-ups, the first of which ended a couple of days back. They beat New Zealand XI after chasing down 173 with 6 wickets and 11 balls to spare. The second warm-up will be played at the same ground in Lincoln, which seems to be a good one for the batsmen.
We’re expecting NZ XI to field a similar team while England XI may want to experiment a bit more and give everyone a go. In the last game, they played three wicket-keeper batsmen but there’s a high chance all three of them play again today in the 2nd T20 warm-up game. New Zealand XI
In T20s, all-rounders are of key importance. In the last game, we selected Anton Devcich as our vice-captain and he smashed 62(43) at the top while also opening the bowling, ending with 0/31 in 2 overs. Pick him again while the next top scorer was Anaru Kitchen, hitting 50 while also bowling one over.
Colin Munro leads the side and he will be one of the most picked fantasy players, so I’d gamble and leave him out especially after his failure of 8 in the last game. With the ball, Lockie Ferguson is miles ahead of the rest in terms of pace and skill, so he can’t be left out; he picked 3 wickets in the last game. Another potential threat could be Anurag Verma who ended with figures of 0/24 in 4 overs amidst all the carnage.
England XI
Jonny Bairstow smashed 78(45)* to take England XI to victory and he will be in almost every fantasy team. If you can select two wicket-keepers, pick him along with Tom Banton who has been in brilliant form for Somerset in the domestic T20 circuit. He scored 11 in the last game while Sam Billings bats too low down. All-rounder Joe Denly had a horrid game scoring a duck and getting 0/30 in 3 over; pick him for sure.
Another all-rounder is Sam Curran who can’t be left out of your FanFight (Sign-up and get Rs.30 FREE) fantasy team as he opens the bowling and is a floater in the batting order. He scored 28(22) and only bowled the 2 overs for 0/15 and he will be a vital player in today’s game too. Among the newbies, I’d suggest a pick in Worcestershire pacer Pat Brown who managed one scalp in the first warm-up game.
