It’s been complete dominance by the hosts New Zealand so far. We’ve seen scores of 240+ at this ground in the past and we expected another big score in the 2nd T20I, and the home team didn’t disappoint. The 3rd T20I against West Indies will be played at the same ground and the team batting first may very well go on to score 210-220 and more, so the toss becomes very crucial as chasing such scores are super tough.
Another reason that the toss is crucial is because in 7 completed T20Is here, not a single one has been won by the side chasing. West Indies may consider a few changes in their side because it’s a dead rubber but we know they are capable of bouncing back to get a win in this 3rd T20I. New Zealand
Opening the batting, Tim Seifert may got scores of 17 and 18 so far and after a couple of starts, he’ll be looking to go on and get a big score for his side, so we’re picking him again today. I’m a big fan of James Neesham but he’s not been bowling much and bats too low down the order, so I’d pick Mitchell Santner instead, who also bats lower down the order but is at least expected to bowl out his quota of 4 overs.
In this series, Ross Taylor has managed scores of 0* and 0 and this guy will be keen to go out there and make his presence felt since he is the most experienced player in the side. We’re picking him in our NZ vs WI fantasy team while Lockie Ferguson is not someone you want to keep out of your team either. Kyle Jamieson had figures of 2/15 in 4 overs in the last game and is also worth picking as an added bowling option.
West Indies
I’m a big fan of Fabian Allen because he’s electric in the field and can bat and bowl well too. He’s managed to make useful contributions with the bat in both games so far, while getting a wicket in 5 overs bowled so far too! Keep an eye out on Nicholas Pooran who hasn’t made any contributions yet but he is the most exciting batsmen in this Windies camp and he’s coming off a good IPL 2020 season as well.

There’s another player who was brilliant in the recent CPL 2020 and that’s Kyle Mayers. The big burly all-rounder got 20(14) with the bat and he bowls once in a while as well, so he could be the captain or vice-captain of your PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234“) fantasy team. Kieron Pollard has been bowling much more ever since taking up the captaincy and it would be really foolish to leave him out of your team today.
