There’s so much of cricketing action taking place around the world that it’s becoming tough to handle them all. While Sri Lanka is busy winning in Pakistan, the Sri Lanka A team recently played 2 unofficial tests which is now being followed by 3 unofficial ODIs against Bangladesh A. Both the test matches ended in draws with plenty of runs being scored and the spinners being the biggest wicket-takers.
Remember, since these are A games, there are many players who are a regular part of the senior teams as well, so give those players preference while selecting your fantasy teams for the ODIs here as well. They have more experience to offer the teams. Keep reading for our complete Nostragamus (sign-up with “READSCOOPS” for Rs.100 FREE) fantasy tips of the BN-A vs SL-A 1st ODI…

Numbers
- Last 5 ODIs head to head, Sri Lanka A leads 3-1.
- Mominul Haque – 128 runs in 2 FC games against SL A.
- Saif Hassan – 814 runs in 16 games in Dhaka Premier Division.
- Mehedy Hasan Miraz – 12 wickets in 2 games in the test series.
- Kamindu Mendis – 298 runs in 2 FC games against SL A.
Bangladesh A
The visitors will be captained by Mominul Haque, one of the better longer format players for Bangladesh who is coming off a century in the 2nd Test against Sri Lanka A. With 474 runs in 12 games including 5 fifties in the Dhaka Premier Division tournament recently, Haque is in prime form. However, the top scorer in that tournament is Saif Hassan, someone who has been slow rising in the circuit for his consistency.
Hasan scored 4 half-centuries and 3 centuries in that same tournament and also likes this opposition, having scored 117 against SL Emerging Team a couple of months ago. The main player in this squad for me will be Mehedy Hasan, who was their top wicket-taker by a long way in the test series, along with a fifty in one of the games. Another player to watch out for is opener Shadman Islam who also managed consecutive fifties in the test series.
Sri Lanka A
The home team will be captained by Ashan Priyanjan who bagged only 1 wicket and 70 runs in the test series. Everyone will have their eyes on Asela Gunaratne who was brilliant with bat and ball both for Sri Lanka before injuries came his way. Gunaratne has been scoring runs and picking wickets consistently at the domestic circuit, and even scored 79 and bagged 2/50 in his last FC game earlier this year. He’s worth picking as your captain or vice-captain as well.
With the bat, add Pathum Nissanka to your Nostragamus (sign-up with “READSCOOPS” for Rs.100 FREE) fantasy picks as he scored 85, 192 in the 2nd Test match. He also scored 115* against BD Emerging Team in August this year, which has a similar bowing attack now too. Sangeeth Cooray also got a century in the test series and he’s someone worth picking too. Jeffrey Vandersay and Vishwa Fernando are other known names in the squad.
