Most of the focus may have been on India’s recent success against Bangladesh at home, but what you don’t know is that the younger India U-19 team is hosting Afghanistan at Lucknow in a 5-match Youth ODI series, all at the same venue. So far, India has been clinical, taking a 2-0 lead and after winning the first game easily by 9 wickets, the second was a tighter affair, winning by only 2 wickets.
The Afghanistan U-19 side doesn’t have any players who’ve played with the national side as they are busy preparing for the Test against West Indies. However, these players are fighters and are certainly not to be taken for granted. If you fancy a bet with BetWinner, Afghanistan U-19 could actually provide a lot of value. Afghanistan U-19
The India bowling attack is a strong one and picking lower order batsmen may not be a bad idea. Now Abdul Rahman may not be a great choice with the ball as he hasn’t tasted success yet but batting low down the order, he’s pulled off scores like 30 and 57* so far. The side is being led by Farhan Zakhil who is a good option, with scores of 27 and 12 so far. He scored 3 fifties and 2 centuries in 4 FC games in April this year.
With scores of 29 and 47 in this series, Rahmanullah has been good so far and you can pick him even though he’s a one dimensional player. Because of his all-round abilities, I’ll pick number 3 batsman Abid Mohammadi in my fantasy team even though he has scores of only 14 and 0 so far. He bowled in the 2nd ODI and bagged 2 wickets as well.
India U-19
First name to add to your Nostragamus (sign-up with “READSCOOPS” for Rs.100 FREE) fantasy team should be Yashasvi Jaiswal because this guy already has experience of playing in the big leagues. Recently, he smashed an unbeaten record double century in the 2019 Vijay Hazare Trophy and he can also be your fantasy team captain today, since he bowls every now and then too, picking 2/18 in the 1st ODI where he also smashed 108* at the top of the order.
Tilak Varma is another player who bats at #3 and rolls over his arm with the ball once in a way. So far this series, he has scores of 29 and 29* and even picked 2/6 in the 2nd Youth ODI. Be careful while selecting players from the Indian side as they are following a rotational policy which means many will play only a game or two at a stretch. We’re expecting Priyam Garg to stay on as captain, and he also has plenty exposure, having played the Vijay Hazare Trophy too.
