Double header Tuesdays are back and this time it’s in the National T20 Cup 2019. Today, proceedings begin with Central Punjab playing Northern Punjab. Later in the day, we have Match 6 of the tournament, this one being between Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Southern Punjab. Contrasting seasons so far as Khyber won their opening fixture while Punjab ended on the losing side of their opening contest.
The game is once again being played at Faisalabad on the same pitch. Southern Punjab lost their opening fixture to rivals Northern Punjab, losing by 5 wickets with an over to spare. As for Khyber, they beat Balochistan by 7 wickets with 2.5 overs to spare, the big win putting them on top of the points table. - Mohammad Rizwan – scores of 128, 176 in last 2 FC games for Khyber.

- Sami Aslam – 243*, 50* in FC game fot Southern Punjab last month.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
All-rounders are key to winning T20 fantasy leagues and one potential x-factor player is Adil Amin. In the opening game, he smashed a match-winning 46(21) and he bowled 4 overs at the top of the innings as well, even though he went wicketless. Another potential all-rounder is Iftikhar Ahmed who picked up 1 wicket in his 4 overs and came out to bat at number 5, where he wasn’t required to bat in the last game.
Mohammad Mohsin was the surprise package in the last game with 4/17 in 4 overs, but he had only 4 wickets in his last 9 games before that, so I’ll skip him as he’ll be in almost everyone’s fantasy teams now. Instead, I’ll pick the vastly experienced Junaid Khan who went wicketless for 31 in 3 overs. Captain Mohammad Rizwan has also been in good form with 31* in the last game; he’s my wicket-keeper pick today.
Southern Punjab
13 tests and Sami Aslam has 7 fifties for Pakistan and he’s a high-value pick today as he won’t be in many fantasy teams after having scored only 3(8) in the last game. To assist him with the bat in the middle order, we have Sohaib Maqsood who scored 25 in the last game and he has experience of playing for Pakistan too. He’s a good option as he’s sometimes thrown the ball as well.
Aamer Yamin batted low down at number 7 and top scored with 33(20) and while I usually wouldn’t pick someone batting so low, he has been in good touch and also opened the bowling for Southern Punjab, making him a good Howzat (sign-up with code “READ1234”) fantasy pick. At 7 ft 1 in, Mohammad Irfan hasn’t been among the wickets in recent months but he began the series well with 2/19 while Zahd Mahmood also picked up 2.
